Consisting of 7 printed manuscripts, ca. 7 Apr. - 19 Nov. 1975, illustrated newsletters of Pearce to the Alicia Patterson Foundation, N.Y., re textile industry in Graniteville, S.C.; topics discussed include history of the Graniteville factory and village, William Gregg and the Gregg family, and mill workers and their families in Aiken County, S.C. Also contains bound volume, [ca. 1975], photocopy of director's shooting script of episode titled "The Gardener's Son," by Cormac McCarthy, which aired on Visions, a weekly television anthology series of original dramas, often with period settings. Set in Graniteville, S.C., the drama centers around two families: the Greggs, the wealthy family that owns and operates the local cotton mill, and the McEvoys, a family of mill workers that includes a son injured in an industrial accident. The "Gardener's Son" episode won an emmy in 1977 for Outstanding Achievement in Graphic Design and Title Sequences for graphic designer, Gene Piotrowsky.
